Hypnosis for distressing experiences
Some experiences stay with you.
They can continue to drain your energy.
With hypnosis, you can let go of the reactions the experience triggers and regain your sense of calm.
This also applies to experiences many would describe as trauma.
Why do some experiences keep affecting you?
When you have been exposed to a traumatic event, the body registers every detail.
Not only what happened, but also smells, sounds, and the overall atmosphere. Everything is stored as something the body needs to respond to.
That is why even small things that remind you of what happened can trigger a strong reaction. This happens even when you know there is no danger.
It is the body’s way of protecting you.
The downside of the experience
When an experience is very difficult to move on from, it can be due to one important detail: it was never shared with anyone.
Perhaps it created a feeling of shame, or it made such a strong impression that it felt impossible to put into words.
When an experience is only processed in your own mind, you may form beliefs that are not grounded in reality:
“It was my fault”
“I am a bad person”
“I am not worthy of love”
“The world is a dangerous place”
These beliefs can be very limiting, but they can be changed.
There is no need for words
Some experiences make such a strong impression that it can be very difficult to put into words what happened.
You do not need to put the experience into words.
We can transform an experience without you having to share the details with me.
Even when we work without you sharing the details, I guide the process all the way.
We will make sure you reach your goal.
A safe and calm process
I set aside 90 minutes for each session, so we have plenty of time. You should allow up to 2 hours in case we run a little over.
We begin with a conversation, where we focus on how the experience is still affecting your daily life.
Hypnosis is a collaboration between you and me. During hypnosis, you will be in a deeply relaxed state. You remain awake, aware, and in full control at all times.
To transform a distressing experience, you will briefly come into contact with the physical reactions you associate with the experience during hypnosis.
For most people, it is the last time. Many experience a sense of relief and calm already during the session.
How many sessions do I need?
It depends on several factors.
Is it one or multiple distressing experiences?
If it is a series of experiences over several years, a longer process will be needed. We will evaluate it along the way.
My experience
My experience is that even strong reactions to an experience can change quickly.
A single distressing experience can be resolved in a short time.
My goal is that you notice a clear difference already after the first session when you think about the specific experience.
If you would like my input on your situation, you are welcome to contact me.
Afternoons and on weekends
I offer sessions on weekdays after 5 PM and on weekends. All times are stated in Central European Time (CET), Denmark.
If I don’t answer the phone, please send me a text message or an email, and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
